The last week has been devastating for the Minneapolis community and our country. We are outraged at the murder of our fellow Minnesotan, George Floyd, and at the continued unjust treatment of the Black community. We stand in solidarity with those working for justice and healing in our hometown and beyond.
Mina is committed to equity and ongoing anti-racist work—in birth and beyond. Racism, maternal and public health are issues that cannot be separated from each other and this understanding guides our work. Since our inception, we have offered provider scholarships to uplift the work of BIPOC providers. And during COVID-19, we have tried to serve birthing families by publishing extensive free resources and guidance appointments. We’re trying. And we know we can do more. We’re reaching out to you because we value your voice.
We would love to hear your thoughts. We’re open to every single suggestion – even if we can’t tackle them all at once.
Black lives matter. Black babies matter. Black families matter. We can and must do better to support our fellow humans.
