Saint Joseph Hospital was the first private teaching hospital in Colorado and was the first hospital in Denver to be named Baby-Friendly. Saint Joseph Hospital is part of SCL Health, a nonprofit faith-based health system with 8 hospitals in three states. They offer 18 labor and delivery rooms with large, jetted tubs and 42 private rooms. Saint Joseph’s supports low-intervention birth, traditional birth and high-risk pregnancy care if needed. Birth teams include certified nurse-midwives, family medicine doctors, OB-GYNs, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Saint Joseph also has an OB-GYN residency, which means medical residents and attending doctors are available 24/7 for any pregnancy- or baby-related concerns. Nitrous oxide is offered for pain management if desired.
