Midwifery Birth Center is staffed by numerous expert midwives who can assist mothers and babies throughout the birthing process. The Midwifery Birth Center is licensed by the state of Oregon and accredited by the Comission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers. Many insurance plans, including Medicaid-funded plans, can cover some of the expenses incurred by services. The birth center has numerous private suites available, with large tubs to assist in pain relief during labor. However, water birth is not available at this time. There are numerous family gathering spaces and a kitchen available for use. Lactation services and guidance are also available for mothers who have delivered. If the pregnancy is high-risk and labor and delivery must happen in a hospital, the midwives of the Midwifery Birth Center are willing and able to accompany mothers to nearby Providence Portland Medical Center and Adventist Medical Center. Doulas are also welcome during delivery.
