Mckenzie-Willamette Medical Center's Birthing Center teams mothers up with a maternity care coordinator, whose responsibility is to organize the maternity team and assists the parents in developing a birthing plan. The maternity care coordinator can also connect the new family with community resources to help them through their parenthood journey. Labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery all take place in the same private suite at the Birthing Center. A TV, a media center, a Jacuzzi to ease the pain during labor, birthing balls, birthing stools, and portable fetal monitoring are all available so mothers may labor however is most comfortable for them. Free tours are offered monthly. Prenatal and breastfeeding education classes are also available.
