Aspen Valley Hospital Birth Center is a designated "Baby-Friendly" facility according to UNICEF and World Health Organization Guidelines. The birth center includes private labor, delivery, and recovery suites, in addition to antepartum and postpartum rooms to provide mothers with maximum comfort. Cesarean section rooms are located nearby, if necessary. A special care nursery is also available for babies who need extra medical care after they are born. Nurses are well-trained in alternative pain management treatments, and can assist laboring mothers in finding relief. The anesthesia department is also available around the clock, should a mother choose pain medication or an epidural. Extensive prenatal education classes, breastfeeding courses, and support groups for mothers are also available.
